Ships

There are five ship types with each five classes in Star Pirates: Sloop, Frigate, Cruiser, Warship and Dreadnaught. Pirates start off with a Sloop Mk. I. New ships can be acquired by upgrading, i.e. buying a new ship. Having a larger ships brings upgrades in the number of Install Slots, Research Units and Hull Points. Of course having a larger ship also enhances your prestige among the other pirates. When you are purchasing a ship upgrade you will be credited 75% of the value of your current ship to go towards your new purchase. Due to a recent change, you can no longer downgrade your ship.
